Alex Ogou was born in 1979 in Gadago, Côte d’Ivoire. Actor, director, screenwriter, cinematographer, editor and producer of successful series, he has been working in the film industry since the age of 17. He landed his first screen role. The lead actor in “Il va pleuvoir sur Conakry” of Cheick Fantamady Camara, Guinea, 2007, was his first time in front of an African camera. Previously, he played the lead roles in two films by Robert Guédiguian (France), “La Ville est Tranquille” (2000) and “À La Place du cœur”, and was director of photography on several documentaries by Jean-Pierre Bekolo (Cameroon) and Ndéye Daquo Thiam (Senegal).
His committed series “Invisibles” (2018) has been broadcasted on CANAL+ as best foreign French-language drama, a first for an African series. With the same realism, he takes us into the country’s vast cocoa farms in “Cacao”, another series with universal resonance.
Head of Plan A, an audiovisual production company, Alex Ogou has also produced the successful series “Obatanga” and “Niabla”.
