Synopsis
Director Timité Bassori has reached an age where words are no longer abundant. They are sparingly given because they are now precious, and breath itself becomes frugal. The uncertainty of tomorrow underscores the urgency of the story, especially as it unfolds in the director’s 90th year. Timité Bassori’s trajectory is touching and unique, plunging us into the early days of cinema in Côte d’Ivoire, just after the country gained independence. It was a time of darkened movie theaters where every cinematic story was told through celluloid, and where black and white reigned supreme in the image.
