Synopsis
In Uganda, investigative journalist Yusuf Kalanzi uncovers electoral malpractice and thuggery during the presidential election. Despite threats, Yusuf reports on the injustices, but his wife Nabira is kidnapped and killed. The kidnappers demand Yusuf to accuse Raymond Lubwama as the mastermind behind the unrest. Yusuf’s child is also killed, and he is forced to flee.
He discovers his TV station is complicit in the malpractice and exposes them, leading to his dismissal. Working independently, Yusuf shares his findings with international news outlets, prompting countries to threaten to cut ties with Uganda. The election is declared inconclusive, leaving Yusuf seeking justice. With his family gone, Yusuf must decide whether to continue fighting for the truth. Will he find solace in seeking justice, or will the cost be too high? In the end, Yusuf’s fate and the future of Uganda hang in the balance.
