Hant\u00e9 par ses crimes pass\u00e9s, il tente de renouer avec ce lieu et ceux qu\u2019il a d\u00e9\u00e7us et abandonn\u00e9s. Son ex-femme, Angele, tient un cabaret en centre-ville et y loge Christ, seul survivant de la catastrophe caus\u00e9e par Wilson. Pendant son absence, Bara, le maire, s\u2019est associ\u00e9 avec Lassana, son vieil ami devenu usurier, pour n\u00e9gocier un contrat de forage au large du village. Une aubaine pour le politicien rapace, depuis que la p\u00eache est interdite par les lois traditionnelles. Wislon sollicitera une audience aupr\u00e8s du Conseil des Anciens pour autoriser \u00e0 nouveau la p\u00eache \u00e0 Diamaguene. Cette entreprise rencontre vite l\u2019avidit\u00e9 du maire, pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant les profits aux principes solidaires des rites traditionnels.
