En 1991, il r\u00e9alise un long-m\u00e9trage en 16mm \u00abKen Bugul\u00bb puis plusieurs courts-m\u00e9trages, dont \u00abJaaraama\u00bb. L\u2019ann\u00e9e suivante, il r\u00e9alise le long-m\u00e9trage \u00ab\u00c7a Twiste \u00e0 Popenguine\u00bb qui remporte plusieurs r\u00e9compenses internationales. En 1994, il signe un moyen-m\u00e9trage \u00abYalla Yaana\u00bb puis, en 1996, \u00abTableau Ferraille\u00bb, un long-m\u00e9trage en 35mm qui remporte plusieurs prix dont celui de la meilleure photo au FESPACO 1997.<\/p>\n<p>En 2002, il r\u00e9alise \u00abMadame Brouette\u00bb qui a remport\u00e9 l\u2019Ours d\u2019Argent \u00e0 la Berlinale .
